2025 Novella Chapters
Why Novelette?
This novelette is not a novelization of the movie. The imagery and dialogue of the movie inspire the discovery of interstices, the novelette is the rest of story that shows, yes, the story flows. The novelette process makes sure the scaffolding of the world can support a heavy cognitive load, even if that load is not obvious in the movie. Whether in written or cinematic form, the world and the story are self consistent, bullet proof, offering an intriguing and even compelling invitation to suspend disbelief.
Chapters have short summaries to illustrate narrative flow. Refining the summaries helps to focus on what what is essential in each chapter and how the chapters relate.

Prologue
Blackness. A disembodied voice births text in retro CRT green. Verbal prompts generate live action vignettes. Blackness dissolves into asphalt flowing past a spinning bike tire.
Notes
Opening credits for the cinematic version get inserted in the black between vignettes. Different font, perhaps the mod computer font? Cliche squared.
Boxes
Boxes in a meadow are activated by the approach a bike and rider. The boxes seem to belong to a pseudo cognitive network that responds to the directives of that rider. After the entire network has been updated with the latest training challenges, the rider prompts for a description of the network's multi-layered purpose emplying the Christian Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as a template.
The boxes need an introduction. Since Joe is querying / training them, the next scene could introduce them. Then Joe casts the temporal spell?
Guy on a Bike [951 words]
The voice belongs to Uncle Joe, who is riding a bicycle while interfacing with techno magical enhancements. Joe had been querying, (perhaps training), the worldwide surveillance network of relief boxes. He is a member of the Clique, a spiritual elite attempting to accelerate humanity's evolution. Joe is also a renegade trickster and plans to double cross the Clique via the DOG project. As the Clique can share thoughts, Joe deploys cognitive chaff to occult his exposition of DOG's true objectives. He casts a temporal spell and along the ever flowing road categories of forms seem to regress.
Archaic menus and icons are integrated into the road and scenery flowing by.
Prompt Open Season
Uncle Joe offers a prompt for a vignette that hints at special training for a young girl.
Hidey-hole [749 words]
Deep within the post apocalyptic cinema backlot, Joe checks in on key players for the DOG project including Gerry and Christina aboard the Big Boat. After confirming all is in readiess, Joe is ejaculated from the underground and makes his final approach to the Big Boat.
Prompt Big Boat [474 words]
Joe prompts for an introduction to the characters on the Big Boat in the style of a late 20th century TV sitcom complete with catchy theme song. Joe subverts the Box Network with humor. The network acquires an affinity for Joe because he is the most fun, (and fun is the foundation of consciousness.)

Gerry watches Christina's return from her evening scavenging before continuing his research into the box network. Though they have not met thoughts of her are distracting him from his work at a crucial point. His discovery that the architecture of the boxes seems to be based on mycelial networks has been a breakthrough, and he could be close to hacking the boxes. But first, a nap.
You're Dead! [1992 words]
Christina's dead Uncle Joe shows up at her cabin door, calling himself Melchior. During the visit she has several hypnogogic recollections of their past together. Joe eventually convinces Christina that she is going to give birth to the Daughter of God, after she seduces the reclusive engineer down the hall.
Date Dance [1534 words]
Christina prepares for her mission by performing the female fashion ritual. Her child self and Uncle Joe had often executed various flim flams and clandestine exploits. Joe had given her the Practice, a palette of cognitive arts that allowed her subtle advantages in every situation and insured that she thrived during the wild times.
When do Gerry's awakened boxes freak?

Christina tells Gerry she's been sent by God to fuck him. Though wildly skeptical, he eventually sees authenticity and their love blooms.
