08/21/25 The ramble about time fits if we can figure out why he tampers with time by teaching or readhing the future. Is this a anti mcguffin, an element that just obfuscates the story, a red herring? A Twin Peaks loose end that's never sewed up? Homage to David Lynch.

What I like about this chapter is the intro of the premise. The reader is oriented without holding their hand. This is the ride, clamber aboard. Asserting that places are stories, (everything is story) and stories move, (movies).
A taste of Joe, different modes of cognition, playful, maybe dangerous. Is this world magic, or is it just cognitively promiscuous? Same difference.
The chapter is short, dense and ends with a tease. What am I reading?
Exposition. What is he trying to accomplish with the temporal tinkering? An alternate solution to Special Delivery that fails? Moving onto an adjacent timeline in order to devolve the technological options available to the Clique? Did his tinkering expose him to devolution, like an exposure to radioactivity? perhaps joe is locally untangling the devolution spell imposed by the clique as part of his pet project... authorized or at least tolerated

Joe breaks the 4th wall - explains why he teaches the future (6/10)
The voice belongs to Uncle Joe, who is riding a bicycle while interfacing with techno magical enhancements. Joe had been querying, (perhaps training), the worldwide surveillance network of relief boxes. He is a member of the Clique, a spiritual elite attempting to accelerate humanity's evolution. Joe is also a renegade trickster and plans to double cross the Clique via the DOG project. As the Clique can share thoughts, Joe deploys cognitive chaff to occult his exposition of DOG's true objectives. He casts a temporal spell and along the ever flowing road categories of forms seem to regress.
Joe with iStone exposition, he is solving problem(s) by talking to himself, conversing with diverse cognitive modes. Bicameral mind. Also for posterity, for the Daughters. What is the problem that a minor uncollapse solves? What track is better unchosen, what track is preferable? What conundrum should he solve that perhaps sets the whole chain of events in motion, even eventually instantiating She Box?
