2025 Guy on Bike Notes
What I like about this chapter is the intro of the premise. The reader is oriented without holding their hand. This is the ride, clamber aboard. Asserting that places are stories, (everything is story) and stories move, (movies).
A taste of Joe, different modes of cognition, playful, maybe dangerous. Is this world magic, or is it just cognitively promiscuous? Same difference.
The chapter is short, dense and ends with a tease. What am I reading?
Exposition. What is he trying to accomplish with the temporal tinkering? An alternate solution to Special Delivery that fails? Moving onto an adjacent timeline in order to devolve the technological options available to the Clique? Did his tinkering expose him to devolution, like an exposure to radioactivity? Joe devolves v1, Joe aging, Cbits
His bike devolves slightly, from a cannondale cross to a miata racer.
perhaps joe is locally untangling the devolution spell imposed by the clique as part of his pet project... authorized or at least tolerated
from different cognitive silos - misleading chafe for any eavesdroppers and authentic documentation for posterity. He tinkers with time by casting an iStone assisted spell :"Teach the Future", which reverts forms that pass by on the ever flowing road.
