Reception

This post is a production planning document, with an emphasis on preparing our perspectives.

Everyone who has been invited to participate is known to me to be willing to explore and be surprised. We are all for the most part not holding onto preconceived ideas about what is and what can be. Stated in creative terms we are open to having our minds changed, our awareness and perception expanded, our physical presence enhanced.

Jacob advises we cultivate feelings of fun and excitement for optimal results. This week, do your level best to practice appreciation and wonder, delight in just being alive.

About Science

Science is only a system for knowing, for inspiring. Rigid beliefs and dogma are not science. "Trust the science" is an anti-science statement. We don't TRUST science, you DO science to get evidence to support theories, keeping in mind that new evidence might overthrow supported theories. Actual scientists revel in this. Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Alan Watts and Jacob Bronowski both said roughly the same thing - by our explorations we cause the universe to grow.

Curiosity and the rigor of results / evidence is what this production is about. We are not entering this adventure with boring skepticism or safe cynicism, we are not sealed up in boxes of belief. I want to feel a big grin on face while the universe shows up in whatever way it wants to show up.

We have two facilitators who are adept at inviting surprises. That's the sort of science we'll be doing.

Location Schedule Conditions

The production is scheduled for 3/12 and 3/13, from approximately 8 pm - 11 pm. The locations are the north west and south west corners of the big field at 3730 Highland Drive, 49617.

Sunset is at 6:45 pm. Weather will be wet Wednesday and Thursday weekend then dry with moderate temperatures in the 40s Friday and Saturday. Friday might be breezy. Saturday could be calmer. The moon is new, so we can look forward to clear dark skies on Friday and cloudy on Saturday.

NEW!!!

Melonie pointed out that this was a little unclear, the crew is not required to be here all weekend. The day times are optional 1/2 day work slots, come and help if you're available / interested. The only FULL crew calls are the Friday and Saturday evening productions starting at 5 pm and wrapping at 11 pm or so. Between the optional slots and full crew you can go home, chill at the house, go for a hike, etc.

Crew

There will be three groups, the facilitator group and two sentinel groups. The facilitators will call the guests and the sentinels will observe any guest anomalies in the sky above or on the ground near the facilitators. The three groups will communicate with walkies. Cell phones will be left in our vehicles near the barns.

The facilitators will be at either the NW or SW corner of the property and have two SLR cameras, one low light camera and sound recording gear. The sentinels will be between 100-200 yards away from the facilitators, far enough to have a clear view of the night sky behind the facilitators for the low light cameras on tripods (cameras don't move). With luck this diagram makes a little sense.

There may be some rotation of crew, but here's the tentative configuration for Friday.

Faciliators

Jacob  - facilitator
Katalina - facilitator
Luke - sound
Milagros - human support

on disclosure

Please don't advertise our plans for this weekend. If you must explain where you are working this weekend to friends or family, this is a scene for the Daughter of God, (http://dog.movie) the science movie I've been working on for decades.
