The quest to master in AE

Export XMLs from extended version and reference movies, rebuild the timeline in AE, revise and complete comps, render out a test master. That’s the goal, to prove I can do what the Rebel DV guide suggested all those years ago, master in AE. As of today July 29, 2014, we can’t. Something is amiss somewhere and we can’t bring in ACT 1, ACT 2 and the intermission and be able to save the file.

Here’s today’s notes.

file won’t save with ACT 07-29-141 imported, or either of ACT 2

deleted workflow got “end of file
then 33 :: 3 after that…

Component comps cannot be saved once imported into the master. The only thing I can think to do now is to clean up the comps as they are, do research on optimizing, perhaps submit a bug report to adobe.

Looks like there are two concurrent modes of moving forward. One – refine and simplify files. Two – look into upgrading platforms for faster performance AND repairing possible corruption of files. The bad mattes and inability to save may be related.
